How Listening To Andrew Tate Ruined My Life

There has been a mass movement of these self-proclaimed “alpha-males” taking over the internet. What seems like pure motivation for the masculine youth can be more dangerous than you think.

The Appeal

Heartbreak is not an uncommon thing. I was going through a breakup when Andrew Tate first started to take over the internet.

He preached ideas of not letting women run your life, and realizing the value you have as a man. As a guy who was pretty upset over being treated unfairly by his ex girlfriend, this content was right up my alley.

The Problem

The problem is, the more I listened, the worse the content got for me. I started to believe that women wouldn’t like me unless I was rich. So I shouldn’t even date until I’m rich. I started to believe that being nice gets you walked all over, so I subconsciously started to hate women in my head.

And these aren’t ideas I came up with on my own, it was ideas that were being fed to me.

Before I knew it, I was having a difficult time socializing with women. I used to never have a problem talking to girls and dating around, but after my mindset switch, I viewed women differently and I’m sure it was apparent in my outward appearance. And for a bit of time, my dating life tanked.

When you think all these negative things about women, you kind of place them on this spectrum and in turn you become a little alienated from them.

It will only hurt you in the long run.

How You Should Look At It

Breakups are inevitable, heartbreak is inevitable. Your mindset is changeable.

If you find a girl pretty and would like to get to know her, you should go talk to her and not have a defined outcome in your head. Talk to her because you want to see what she’s like.

If you find a girl pretty and want to talk to her, and in your head you’re repeating this “alpha-male” stuff about how women are worthless and they’re all unfaithful and this and that, you are not going to come off as warm and charming. And when you get rejected, it’s going to add fuel to the fire.

This is dangerous.

Be open to love and dating, don’t have a negative outlook on it.
